NEW HOPE HAPPENINGS

New Hope Christian School has opened for it’s 22nd year.
The student body numbers are small but face the same struggles as larger bodies. We have increased the day to include seven full periods. The new class we have this year is Literature I. We are using the book Pilgrim’s Progress and the workbooks that go with it. Our PE program has begun also and the students are enjoying tennis. One of the goals we have this

We have increased its area and are adding books. We have a full library program and have a student in Library Science this year. She will help tend the reorganization and entries into the library.
We had a work group from Lodi, WI who helped clean and setup school. They also donated money for 40 yards of mulch for our playground. We do not have it in the playground yet but will soon.
With all the new skateboard equipment in the gym the students are having a good time. This equipment has also created much interest with neighbors and kids from downtown. It has great drawing potential to reach some kids otherwise not ever seen.
Students are asking about another major field trip similar to the trip to Creation Museum last year. I’m not sure we will be able to do something similar. It depends on how much money we can raise.
Our fuel bill this year is the highest ever. Pray for the resources to pay the monthly budget. As we go through this school term keep the students in prayer. Also pray for Jean’s and my health through the year. We are still looking for computers and laptops with XP on them. We still have many VHS videos in our library and equipment to use them, but we need to begin to update to DVD’s. We are in hopes that the new gym furnaces will be installed soon and there are also plans to replace the lights.
In the longer range projects, the gym restrooms need to be remodeled and the classroom needs new carpet, networking and WIFI. PRAISE - The remodeling in the kitchen doubled its size and a new commercial dishwasher was donated. It is so much better to work there.

 New Hope Christian School has signed up for the Kids Caps and Cash program which will run through the school year. Morning Glory and Golden Guernsey milk lids are worth 5 cents each. Save them, send them our way.
 The School also is collecting Box Tops for Education and Campbells Soup Labels
